Vera Belle Baker, daughter of the late Reben and Zana Gaines Craft, was born on Oct. 2, 1924, in Bernie, Mo. and died at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla. on May 31, 2012, at the age of 87. Vera Belle Baker, daughter of the late Reben and Zana Gaines Craft, was born on Oct. 2, 1924, in Bernie, Mo. and died at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Fla. on May 31, 2012, at the age of 87.

Vera had been a long time resident of Bloomfield and Dexter before moving to Florida several years ago. She was employed for over 30 years with the Elder Manufacturing Company in Bloomfield, Mo.

In January of 1944, she was married to Shelton Baker. He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2006.

Surviving are one son and spouse, Dennis and Shirley Baker of Tallahassee, Fla.; two granddaughters, Suzanne Baker-Poggie and Catherine Baker; a great granddaughter, Sophie who all live in Tallahassee, Fla.; and one sister, Bonnie Parsons of Dexter, Mo. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewane and James Craft.

Friends may visit on Wednesday June 6, 2012, after 12:30 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. with Bro. Kenneth Gaines of Bloomfield, Mo. officiating.

Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield in charge of all arrangements.
