Patricia Sue DeProw Ockel was born March 11, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, and died Sept. 20, 2024, at home with her daughter’s family in Norwalk, Iowa, where they were blessed to have had her live for the last three and a half years. Pat was the daughter of the late Dolly Patterson DeProw and Hurshel “Dick” DeProw of Tallapoosa, Missouri. On June 2, 1962, in Tallapoosa, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Arthur “Art” Louis Ockel, Jr. Pat was 83 years old when she joined Art in Heaven...

Patricia Sue DeProw Ockel was born March 11, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, and died Sept. 20, 2024, at home with her daughter’s family in Norwalk, Iowa, where they were blessed to have had her live for the last three and a half years.

Pat was the daughter of the late Dolly Patterson DeProw and Hurshel “Dick” DeProw of Tallapoosa, Missouri. On June 2, 1962, in Tallapoosa, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Arthur “Art” Louis Ockel, Jr. Pat was 83 years old when she joined Art in Heaven.

Mrs. Ockel worked as a Credit Manager, Real Estate Agent and Interior Decorator in Dexter and surrounding towns. Pat enjoyed fashion, ceramics, painting and hosting holiday meals. She was a member of Altrusa, Red Hats Club and other organizations that helped the community of Dexter.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Sue Ockel Chapman (John) of Norwalk, Iowa. “Gom” was surrounded by her grandchildren, Brett (Elizabeth) Chapman of Ankeny, Iowa, Brandon Chapman and Bryson Chapman, both of Norwalk, Iowa; her younger brother, Charles H. (Pay) DeProw of St. Charles, Missouri.

Also surviving are her son, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Ockel of Arkansas; grandchildren, Katelyn (Tyler) Golden and their daughters Sadie and Zella of Arkansas, Dakota Ockel and Anna (Jordan) Iman, both of Missouri.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; Art; and her sister-in-law, Sandra Ockel McNichols; and other family and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Unity Point Hospice for allowing her final days to be peaceful and comfortable in her home. The family would also like to thank her Southeast Missouri loving friends for a lifetime of friendship and support.
