Patricia L. Shipman Elmore was born on Dec. 29,1935, in Dexter, to the late Edward M. and Doris L. (Tweedy) Shively. She died on Jan. 22, 2015, at her home. Patricia L. Shipman Elmore was born on Dec. 29,1935, in Dexter, to the late Edward M. and Doris L. (Tweedy) Shively. She died on Jan. 22, 2015, at her home.

Mrs. Elmore graduated from Bloomfield High School and Southeast Missouri State University and was a retired librarian with the Dexter Public Schools. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield; had served on the Cotton Bowl Area Girl Scout Council, the Bloomfield Library Board, and on the early committee of the Stars and Stripes Museum/Library. She also was a member of the Women's Federation Club of Bloomfield. One of her major interests included genealogy research. She has published four books on her family.

In 1953, she married Lee E. Shipman who preceded her in death in 1985. In 1988 she married William M. Elmore who preceded her in death in 2000.

She is survived by three children, Carol Rozier of Osage Beach, Mo., Katherine Wethington of Dexter and Trent Shipman of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Carissa Rozier Danner, Bradley Rozier, Trentlee Shipman and several great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Shively of Little Rock, Ark.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Erin L. Shipman Powell in 2007.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral services to be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Alice Fowler officiating. Interment will be in the Shipman Plot of Robert Hill Cemetery south of Bloomfield.

The family requests no flowers but that memorials be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 302, Bloomfield, Mo 63825; the Stars and Stripes Museum, 17377 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, Mo 63825 or the Bloomfield Public Library, P. O. Box 294, Bloomfield, Missouri 63825.
