Joseph Geuin, son of the late Marvin Credale Geuin and Lois Lavina Simpkins, was born on Jan. 3, 1956 in De Ridder, La., and died on June 19, 2012, at his residence in Dexter at the age of 56. Joseph Geuin, son of the late Marvin Credale Geuin and Lois Lavina Simpkins, was born on Jan. 3, 1956 in De Ridder, La., and died on June 19, 2012, at his residence in Dexter at the age of 56.

Mr. Geuin was a pastor, and was affiliated with United Pentecostal Church, where he was a member of the Ministerial Alliance for 39 years. He was the senior pastor of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter.

On March 26, 1977, he was united in marriage to Cheryial Elliot in Leesville, La. Mrs. Geuin survives of their residence in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Marcus Geuin of Dexter, Charles Geuin of Cambria, Ill., Joseph Geuin of O'Fallon, Mo., and Gentry Geuin of Dexter; by one brother, Charles Geuin of Shreveport, La.; by one sister, Linda Thomas of Calhoun, La.; and by three grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Paul and Bonnie Tyler.

Visitation will take place at the First Pentecostal Church on One Mile Road in Dexter on Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. Friends will also be received on Friday, June 22, 2012, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter with Pastors Mike McConnaugey of Mans-field, La., Mickey Lewis of Aurora, Mo., and Stephen Willeford, who is the Missouri Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church, officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Dexter Cemetery.
