Jesse D. Williams, son of the late Robert and Willowdean Rogers Williams, was born in Paragould, Ark., on Sept. 9, 1933, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, on Oct. 8, 2014, at the age of 81. Jesse D. Williams, son of the late Robert and Willowdean Rogers Williams, was born in Paragould, Ark., on Sept. 9, 1933, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, on Oct. 8, 2014, at the age of 81.

Mr. Williams had lived in San Diego, Calif., for many years, moved to Bloomfield in 1959 and had lived in the Cape Girardeau and Jackson area the past several years. He was an area sales manager for Ortho Mattress.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion.

On April 7, 1956, he was married to Delpha Lucille Rogers in Flint, Mich.

Surviving are his wife, Delpha Williams of Jackson; one son, Brian Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Shelia Williams of Marquand, Mo., and Gail Ann Pierce of Canalou, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Williams of Florida, Robert Sherwin-Williams of Harrison, Mich., and Dale Williams of Crescent City, Calif. Other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brooke Williams; and two brothers, Royce and Jerry Williams.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, followed by graveside services and interment at 3 p.m. at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Tim Griffin of Dexter officiating.

The family requests that any memorials be made to the Pediatric Cancer Ward, Cardinal-Glennon Children's Hospital, 1465 S Grand Blvd, St. Louis, Mo. 63104-1095.
