   Bobby Joe Scowden, 71, of Jackson, Mo., passed away January 30, 2019 at his home.  He was born August 16, 1947 at Sturdivant, Mo., the son of Oren P. and Annie Simmers Scowden. Bob graduated from Zalma High School in 1965.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. ...

   Bobby Joe Scowden, 71, of Jackson, Mo., passed away January 30, 2019 at his home.  He was born August 16, 1947 at Sturdivant, Mo., the son of Oren P. and Annie Simmers Scowden.

Bob graduated from Zalma High School in 1965.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. 

Bob retired from Nestle Purina in Bloomfield after working there for 30 years. 

Bob married his beloved wife, Teresa Skinner in 1992 and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: his wife, Teresa Scowden; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Scowden of Thebes, IL; a son, Joey Dwane Scowden of Thebes, IL; a step-daughter, Amber (Mike) Shortland of Jackson, MO; grandchildren, Brennon Hill, Haileigh Richardson, Caleb Richardson, Trey Richardson, Kennedy Shortland; two sisters, Shirley (Gary) McCullough and Rachel Carlton, both of Advance; he was a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Lloyd Harris, Floyd Harris, Donald Scowden, Dwane Scowden and Dwight Scowden; and two sisters, Margaret White and Barbara Shell.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 1, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.  A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Dale Wiseman.  Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
