If one local state legislator has anything to do with it, the Stars and Stripes Museum will soon have a sign on Highway 60 at the Highway 25 exit announcing its presence. "I met with MoDOT [the Missouri Department of Transportation] today," said state Rep. Billy Pat Wright on Wednesday afternoon. "And it looks promising to get a sign at the Highway 25 exit off of 60 for the museum."...

"And it looks promising to get a sign at the Highway 25 exit off of 60 for the museum."

Wright noted there is a sign for the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at the exit, but none announcing the Starts and Stripes Museum. "And the veterans in our area are very interested in seeing that happen."

Wright said a previous effort to get a sign installed at the exit had proven unsuccessful. "But it's looking very promising now," he said.

Wright said he had met with House Veterans Committee chair Jack Jackson (R-Wildwood) and MoDOT district engineer Scott Meyer on the matter, and that the latter had pledged to investigate what had to be done for such a sign to be emplaced on the highway "in the near future."

"It's not a done deal," Wright cautioned. "But the museum board and a lot of them are really pushing for that.

"And it looks like we can make it happen."
