AQUILLA, Mo. -- A Dexter man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at Aquilla Friday afternoon, Sept. 25 involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer.

According to the Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Scotty L. Hendrix of Dexter was southbound on Highway 25, driving a 2016 International tractor trailer rig, when Randall Morris, 76, of Bloomfield, pulled from a driveway onto the highway and into the path of Hendrix.

The Morris vehicle was struck in the rear, and the tractor trailer then left the roadway and overturned.

Hendrix, with serious injuries, was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

Both drivers were equipped with seat belts at the time of the accident, according to the patrol. Morris was uninjured. The International truck was a total loss.
