A retirement tea is planned for Thursday, May 9 to honor several teachers retiring from the Dexter Public School system.

The tea will take place at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Bearcat Event Center. A total of 13 local educators from the local school district, representing more than three centuries in education, will be stepping down at the conclusion of the current school year.

They include Nancy Vines, Debbie Essner, Kim Fitts, Sherry Matthews, Sandy Clark, Melinda Sweeney, Charles Cooper, Pam Mills, Ann Polsgrove, LeAnn Dooley, Kim Flowers (retired in January), Ronnie Shipman, and Katrina Kluesner.

The public is encouraged to attend the event.
