Raising their voices in song... Local students head to state competition

Solos and ensembles from Dexter High School's Music Department, under the direction of Jamie Sepulvado, attended the District Contest held Saturday, March 24, at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on Three Rivers' Poplar Bluff campus, along with several choirs from the region. When the day was over, 24 local students made the grade. They will proceed on April 27 and 28 to the All State Choir competition in Columbia, Mo. From left to right in the front row are Stephanie Gee, Kaitlin Viers, Samuel Ward, Dalton Putnam, Malinda Mayo, Whitney Layton, Maygan Roberts, and Brad Swallows. In the middle row are Peyton Baran, Sarah Richardson, Reale Cook, Kelsey Frederick, Darcie Lane, Ashley Long, and Brooks Propst. In the back row are Alex Morgan, Emily Long, Christin Sitzes, Riley Rickman, Zach Sims, Keaton Altom, Jonathan Foels, Logan Quertermous, and Drew Mason.
