BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - While most people haven't even begun to think about it yet, workers at Stoddard County Clerk Joe Watson's office are preparing for yet another election.
Tuesday, Dec. 13 marked the official opening day for candidates to file for the April 2011 municipal election. Candidates may file for office until January 17.
Numerous city and school board offices are up for grabs this year, but filings are still coming in.
Filing has bee slow in many muncipal elections. Many school board of directors positions are among those to be elected this year, but due to the holiday the Statesman was not able to contact the schools for a list of candidates that have filed.
