After 10 years of operations, the Dexter Twin Cinema, operating under Pollack Cinema, LLC, will cease operations at the end of the month (February). Beginning March 1, 2020, the Dexter Twin Cinema will gain new ownership under Dexter Cinema, LLC, owned by Chris Costin, the long-time General Manager of the cinema, and his wife, Alysa Costin.
Customers will have several things to look forward to over the coming months, including updated restrooms and auditorium seating, as well as a few new concession menu items. The Costin’s express that the cinema needs the local connection that they can offer to allow the business to flourish and better serve the community. Costin has worked alongside many religious organizations and school districts over the years and wants to continue to build relationships with the community and neighboring towns. Costin states that his experience in the industry has led him to develop the skills, knowledge and connections needed to see operations continue.
“The cinema has been a staple of the Dexter area and community for over 40 years and we want to see it continue as a family-friendly, safe environment for people to retreat to for quality entertainment and to just have a good time,” said Costin.
The Costin family has been affiliated with the cinema’s operations since it first opened its doors in 1976 under Clyde Costin, Chris Costin’s grandfather, as well as many other members of the Costin family, including Clinton Costin and Judy Costin.
Costin states that the goal is to open for business by March 6 while renovations are being conducted, which will follow with a grand reopening ceremony once renovations have been completed.
“I am excited for what is in store for our cinema and our community,” said Costin.
Costin states that more details will be provided as updates progress. Customers should look for updates and important announcements on Facebook and that updates on operation hours and dates will be posted in the window of the cinema as well.
