By SHERMAN SMITH Contributing Writer The Dexter Bearcats’ baseball team defeated Grippin’ Seams Revelers of Southern Missouri at the East City Park on June 19. Gibson Booker was the starting pitcher for the Bearcats. “His curve ball was extremely impressive, staying thigh to knee all night,” said Bearcat head coach Steven Edwards. “His fastball was working great and the change up was filthy,” said Edwards. “The bats were alive and well... banging out 13 hits,” said Edwards. The Grippin’ Seams Revelers of Southern Missouri call Next Level Academy in Miner home. The Revelers emphasize Christian values and faith as a developmental force in youth and high school baseball. The Dexter Bearcat baseball 2024 hitting camp was held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, and Wednesday, June 26, at the East Park. The two-day hitting camp is for ages 9-15 and focuses on understanding the fundamentals.
