Annual 4th of July Parade in Downtown Dexter

Bright sunny skies greeted dozens of kids who dressed in their patriotic best for the annual 4th of July parade in Dexter. The parade made a stop at the post office steps where patriotic songs were sung and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The parade ended at the home of Jason and Kristi Banken where the kids and their parents were treated to lemonade and cookies.

The festivities were lead by Uncle Sam AKA Dexter Mayor Jason Banken.

The Dexter Police and Fire Departments along with Stoddard County EMS lead the parade.

Kids were encouraged to decorate their bikes or whatever else they chose to ride on.

Even some four legged friends came out for the parade.

Everyone one was treated to lemonade and cookies in the Banken's front yard after the parade.
