Each player, coach and game official who participated in the match honored someone they knew who had or has cancer.

The Hits for Hope eighth-grade volleyball match was played Thursday, April 4, 2019, at T.S. Hill Middle School. Proceeds from the event were donated to 18 Fore Life, a charity that gives money to area families fighting cancer. Dexter won the match against Bloomfield 25-13, 25-23.
