DEXTER STATESMAN/Kyle Smith Athletes received their letters Tuesday, March 12, 2019, during the Dexter High School winter sports recognition program at the high school auditorium. Five were first-time letter winners, including from left, Natalie Sells (dance), Andie Kruse (cheerleading), Natalie Bolin (dance) and Brett Frizzell (wrestling). Shea Baker (girls basketball) is not pictured.

DEXTER STATESMAN/Kyle Smith Dexter High School held its winter sports recognition program Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the high school auditorium. Awards were handed out in three sports: boys basketball, girls basketball and wrestling. Travis Waldner (left) was named MVP and most aggressive wrestler. We went 42-3 and recorded the most takedowns this season. Chaylea Mosby (second from left) was named girls basketball MVP and won the awards for best defender, leading rebounder (7.4) and top free-throw shooter (82 percent). Seth Rogers (third from left) was named boys basketball MVP, and Andrew Ellinghouse was boys basketball's best defender and most accurate free-throw shooter. Garrett Henson (not pictured) was the boys basketball team's top rebounder, averaging 7.9 per game. Wyatt Parker (not pictured) was named the most improved wrestler.
