Delta Companies Inc. earns top honors for excellence in asphalt paving projects

CAPE GIRARDEAU — The National Asphalt Pavement Association recently announced that Delta Companies Inc. won several 2024 Quality in Construction Awards for excellence in construction of asphalt paving.

The company was recognized during the association’s 70th Annual Meeting, according to a press release from Delta.

The National Asphalt Pavement Association is the premier trade association representing the interests of asphalt pavement material producers and paving contractors across the United States, officials said. NAPA is committed to advancing the asphalt pavement industry through advocacy, education, research, and innovation. The association’s annual Quality in Construction Awards recognizes excellence in asphalt pavement projects that meet or exceed rigorous quality standards.

Delta Companies Inc. has been recognized for four outstanding projects:

• Route B, Cape Girardeau and Perry Counties, Missouri: Delta was honored for its outstanding work on the overlay of Route B. The project placed a 1-inch asphalt leveling overlay on the road, using reclaimed asphalt pavement, enhancing the road’s ride and safety while keep sustainability at the forefront.

• Interstate 55, Mississippi County, Arkansas: Delta was honored for its outstanding work on 4.2 miles of Interstate 55 from Highway 148 to south of Highway 61. The company rubberized the existing roadway and placed an asphalt overlay on it, as well as several other improvements, producing a smooth and high- quality asphalt pavement.

• Highway 62, Clay County, Arkansas: Delta was honored for its outstanding work on 4.8 miles of Highway 62. The company successfully milled, patched, leveled, and then paved the road, providing a high- quality asphalt road with an overall improvement in ride quality for area motorists.

• Highway 49 Bypass, Greene County, Arkansas: Delta was honored for its outstanding work on the Highway 49 Bypass from Highway 49 to Highway 412. The company successfully milled, patched, and then placed an asphalt base course, fog seal coast, asphalt surface course, and an ultrathin asphalt wearing course, resulting in a high-quality asphalt road.

In each of these projects, Delta Companies Inc. has demonstrated the ability to significantly improve infrastructure by using advanced techniques and technologies.
