DAR, Prospect-News and Statesman free access due to weather, delivery problems
Inclement weather hindered the delivery late Tuesday and early Wednesday of the Jan. 25 editions of the Daily American Republic, The Prospect-News and the Dexter Statesman.
The editions will be free access on the newspapers’ websites because of these issues.
Press times for the Daily American Republic were moved up by five and a half hours and matched by the PN and Statesman, but snowfall moved in earlier and was heavier than anticipated.
Drivers were able to safely deliver editions to the Poplar Bluff post office before 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Staff also hoped to deliver to the Dexter and Doniphan post offices with four-wheel drive vehicles if road conditions allowed, but it was determined it would not be safe to attempt to make other deliveries.
We regret any inconvenience this causes our readers, but the Jan. 25 print edition will be delivered as soon as drivers can safely resume their routes.
