FREE Access - Dexter Schools cancel classes
Dexter Schools have canceled classes Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, April 3 amid concerns over the Coronavirus.
Dexter Superintendent C.A. Counts stated in a release that this decision was made after gathering information from health officials and other county school officials. Counts school officials also listed to community leaders and parents before taking this action.
Additionally during the closure no school activities will take place and all facilities will be closed to the public. Counts said in the release that the school district is developing a plan to assist families in need of help during the school closure.
The district will alert families with all communication channels as to how to access these resources. Updates will be provided via the district website, texts, emails and social media.
“The safety of our students, staff and community is our highest priority,” said Counts in the release. “We will continue to evaluate the next steps for our school as information becomes available and provide information through our email notification system as well as through our website.”
