JACKSON, No. -- Dexter senior Cody Stevens carded a round of 79, but got little help as the Bearcats finished 8th in the 13-team field at the Notre Dame Invitational golf tournament held at Bent Creek Golf Club Monday.
Dexter totaled 379 strokes in the 18-hole event that combined the scores of a team's top four golfers.
Along with Steven's 7-over-par round of 79 for Dexter were Mills Urhahn at 93, Ryan Joyner came in at 100 and Drake Mitchell finished at 107. Dexter discarded the score of Brandon Strickland who carded a 111.
Poplar Bluff won the team event with a combined score of 306, followed by Notre Dame Regional High School at 309 and Jackson at 316.
Ryan Eady of Nixa took medalist honors with a 1-under-par round of 71.
Dexter's schedule show that the Bearcats will not see action again until Monday when they will host Kennett at Hidden Trails Country Club.
Dexter opened the season at home Friday and defeated both Bloomfield and Malden.
